WHO IT HELPS & HOW TO USE IT
How to use the college GPA calculator
Add each course’s credit hours and grade, read the term GPA, then optionally enter prior GPA and credits for a new cumulative.
Add courses with credit hours and letter or percent grades.
Review term GPA, credits, and quality points in the result card.
Optionally enable cumulative mode with prior GPA and prior credits.
Before you rely on the result: Uses a common US 4.0 plus/minus map and a simple percent→points conversion. Not a registrar tool. High-school Honors/AP weighting is on the high school GPA page.
Is this a college GPA calculator and university GPA calculator?
Yes. Enter each college course’s credit hours and letter grade (or percent). The term GPA uses the standard US 4.0 map. Optional prior GPA and prior credits produce a new cumulative GPA.
How do I calculate cumulative GPA with prior credits?
Enable cumulative mode, enter your prior GPA and the credit hours already completed, then add this term’s courses. New cumulative = (prior GPA × prior credits + term quality points) ÷ (prior credits + term credits).
Can I enter percentage grades instead of letters?
Yes. Choose Percent on a row. This tool maps 93→A/4.0, 90→A−/3.7, 87→B+/3.3, and so on down to below 60→F/0. Confirm that your college uses the same conversion.
What credit hours should I enter?
Use the semester credit hours (or quarter units if that is what your GPA uses) listed on the transcript for each course. Lab and lecture are usually separate if they carry separate credits.
Does “uni grade calculator” mean the same thing?
For US-style 4.0 GPA, yes—this college/university GPA calculator covers that intent. UK degree classifications and other national scales need different tools.
Why might this differ from my registrar’s GPA?
Repeated courses, pass/fail, transfers, forgiveness policies, and plus/minus maps vary. Use official records for applications.
